Millions of Ghanaians head to the polls today to vote in the country’s Presidential election after months of campaigns, rallies and promises.
Here are four things you should know about Wednesday’s Presidential elections;
- There are 17 Presidential candidates; John Dramani Mahama of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
The rest are Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and Jacob Osei Yeboah, an Independent Candidate.
- The frontrunners are Ghana’s incumbent President, John Mahama and legal luminary, Nana Akufo Addo.
- Ghana’s former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is also one of the candidates in the election.
- Over fifteen million voters are registered.
