Chelsea captain John Terry has reportedly received a huge £12m contract offer from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.
According to The Sun, the club are attempting to bring the 36-year-old to Asia on a one-year deal next month.
Terry has been out for much of this season through injury but has been out of favour under manager Antonio Conte when fit. His former teammate and Shanghai boss Gus Poyet is said to be keen to bring the centre-back in.
Chelsea would be unlikely to command any transfer fee for Terry and the £12m contract offer would reportedly be after tax. With only six months remaining on his current contract with the Blues, it seems that his time at the club could be coming to an end.
Terry last month admitted that a move away may be required, when he said: “I still want to play for a couple more years, whether that is at Chelsea or somewhere abroad, I don’t know.
