Manchester United made a return to winning ways with a slim 1-0 victory over Tottenham. Their win ends a nine game winless run which had begun to worry fans and the club’s hierarchy.
27-year old Henrikh Mkhitaryan who Jose Mourinho has criticized this season was the cover of the match program and in near prophetic fashion, he also provided the first goal. The goal was quite memorable as the Armenian sent a ball from Ander Herrera beyond the reach of Tottenham goalie, Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham looked out of sorts for much of the match, with Wanyama and Dele Alli failing to stamp their authority on the game. The only damper on Sunday night’s performance for United was the sight of Henrikh Mkhitaryan stretchered off with injury before the end of the encounter.
