Ogun LG Chairman Threatens Arrest Of Street Hawkers

The Chairman of Ado/Odo Ota Local Government Council of Ogun State, Mr Oladele Adeniji, says the council will soon commence the arrest of street hawkers at the  toll gate and Oju-Ore area due to the nuisance they constitute.

Adeniji in an interview with reporters on Friday in Ota, Ogun State, stated that the government could no longer tolerate the activities  of the hawkers.

According to Adeniji, the state government will be proactive in addressing the challenges caused by hawkers.

”Many of them had lost their lives, while some had been confined to wheelchairs due to crashes that happened on the roads,” he said.

Adeniji, however, stated that efforts would be made to make shops available to the traders at reasonable prices.
