AFCON 2017: Egypt Manage Late Winner To Knock Out Morocco

Egypt left it late to knock out Morocco as they qualified for the 2017 African Cup of Nations semi-final as the encounter ended 1-0. Morocco would have every right to be feel hard done as they spurned several gilt-edged chances before Egypt’s substitute, Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Romain Saiss and midfielder Mbark Boussoufa were perhaps guilty of profligacy as they hit the crossbar twice for Morocco at different points in the game.

Today’s result now means that Egypt will face Burkina Faso who beat Tunisia 2-0 on Saturday and in the second semi-final encounter, Ghana will face Cameroon.
