Wayne Rooney has returned to Manchester United lineup ahead of the visit of Reading this afternoon.
Rooney returned to the lineup after missing the wins over Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Ham.
Jose Mourinho made nine changes for Manchester United, with only Marcos Rojo and Michael Carrick remaining from the side that beat West Ham.
Meanwhile, United’s legend Jaap Stam will make his first return to Old Trafford as a manager when his Reading side look to spring a shock in the third round of the FA Cup against the former cup winners.
The Opposing boss says that he is looking forward to his return to Old Trafford – but insists he is more excited about facing off against Mourinho.
“I like the way he works and what he does for the team – he gets things going,” Stam said.
“I’ve spoken to him a couple of times and he’s a great manager. I admire all the success he has had and the trophies he’s won.
“Hopefully I can be up there as well at some point, but I still have a long way to go. It is good to play against managers like that because you can learn something.”
