It took almost five hours for Rafael Nadal to dig in deep and beat Grigor Dimitrov in the second Australian Open semi final.
Nadal who has not appeared in a major final since 2014 needed five sets 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, (7/5), 6-7 (4/7), 6-4 to win and it took all of 4 hours and 56 minutes. Dimitrov played some magnificent tennis, stretching the world number nine but eventually the Spaniard was too much for him.
The result means that Sunday’s final will be between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, a match the Sports world will love very much. The familiar rivals have faced each other nine times, with Nadal winning on six occasions.
