Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has uncovered a new trend in abduction of unsuspecting children and defrauding of shop-owners.

Kaduna state command of the corps, said it uncovered the crime perpetrated by the convicted man, an acclaimed welder who was apprehended to have lured a minor, Ibrahim Abubakar, 13, at Shehu Laminu Road, Ungwan-Rimi and used him as bait.

According to the command, preliminary interrogation had revealed that Auta who was almost lynched but was fortunate to have been rescued from an angry mob and brought to NSCDC state headquarters, convinced the victim in front of his father’s house to follow him with a promise to pay him some money.

The convicted man admitted that his aim was to use the victim under the pretext of his son to collect soft-drinks from unsuspecting shop-owners to go and sell. However, an attempt to defraud a shop-owner at Surame Road was unsuccessful because the victim denied being his son when he left him at a shop to go and hire mobility.
