NBS Staff Needs N15m For Kidney Transplant

Thirty five-year-old Inia Jennifer Baba, who has been battling with renal disorder since 2013 has sent an appeal for help to Nigerians at home and abroad to help raise the sum of N15million, to enable her undergo urgent saving kidney transplant surgery.

A mother of one, Inia a staff of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), is currently confined to a hospital bed.

Lamenting her plight after her husband Baba Usman, abandoned her with their Seven-year-old son was regretful ‎that her parent are broke and unable to raise the required sum for the surgery.

Inia explained that she has been battling with the ailment since 2013 after the doctors at the Nigeria Customs Hospital in Karu, Abuja confirmed that she had renal disorders and since commenced dialysis treatment in 2013 at the National Hospital.

According to her, “Every week we spends the sum of N25, 000 for dialysis, then with Eretropotin injection which cost N18,000 ,Iron Sucrose N25,000 ,BP drugs then routine test‎ estimated at N70, 000 every week. We now depend on good spirited Nigerians for dialysis which costs a lot of money.”

In a passionate plea, she urged public spirited Nigerians and cooperate bodies to come to her aid.

Her mother, Mrs. Philomina Ebojie, explained that their main challenge is raising the required funds for the transplant. “We have exhausted our resources and are at the mercy of kind people for rescue; anyone motivated to assist should kindly send donations to 0153546191 Ebojie .P. Omonigho.GTB.”

In a medical report signed by consultant Nephrologist at the National Hospital, Dr Umoru M.B stated that Inia is being managed for end stage renal disorder has been on renal replacement therapy via Hemodialysis for the past three years.
