The Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, has directed all civil servants in the state to be computer literate to enhance their chance of progression in the civil service.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Imam Imam, in Sokoto weekend.

The statement said the governor had granted approval to the Head of Service for the training of 23,361 workers in the state on computer appreciation.

According to the statement, the state government embarked on the project in order to increase efficiency in the state civil service.

“In this age and time, no progress can be made without knowledge of computer and by extension information and communication technology (ICT),” it said.
