Nasarawa gov’s son to face man slaughter challenge

The son of  Nasarawa State Governor, Khali Al-makura will be facing a manslaughter charge who killed a student,  Amos Ovyeh. This information was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq-Bello 

The CP informed Northern City News in a telephone interview on Tuesday that Khali was still in police custody and would appear in court after the conclusion of investigation.

Khali had allegedly knocked down the JSS II student of Government Science School, Lafia with his car last Sunday while he and his friends were on their way to buy batteries for their torch lights.

The CP  dismissed speculations that the suspect had been released, stressing that Khali and his car were still being held.

“As far as I am concerned, the suspect is still in police custody and his car is at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. As soon as investigation is concluded, he will be charged to court,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ovyeh has been buried by his family at the Mada Station area of Aggadi Development Area of the state.

Our correspondent learnt that the deceased was buried on Monday afternoon.
