FG Explains Buhari’s Absence At FEC Meeting

The Federal Government reacted to the anxiety generated by President Muhammadu Buhari’s absence at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday is not due to a relapse of his ill-health, says Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.
Anxiety was generated earlier in the day when Buhari failed to turn up at the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Villa for the weekly FEC meeting, which was eventually presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
However, briefing State House correspondents after the meeting, Lai Mohammed explained that the President could not attend the FEC meeting because he was busy with other official duties.
The Minister did not disclose what exactly kept the President busy but he said that upon seeing the agenda of the FEC meeting, Buhari decided to mandate Osinbajo to chair the session instead.
Mohammed further explained that the President would be in the office later in the day or the following day, insisting that Buhari’s absence at he FEC meeting does not mean he cannot work from home.
