A fake Police Officer apprehended for impersonation have been denied by a security company, King David Security Limited, saying that the company never owed him any money as he claimed.

The taskforce arrested Faith Sunday John on Wednesday for impersonating the police, claiming to be a police inspector to extort money from the public.

John had been caught impersonating his deceased father who had died as an Assistant Superintendent of Police. He claimed to have ventured into crime because he was being owed salaries by King David Security Limited.

However, the company, in a statement issued and signed by Richard Ekele, Public Affairs department said the company never owed John any money and that he ventured into crime on his own volition.

“We wish to state unequivocally that he was never owed any arrears of salaries while he was in our employ. He went AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) following the burial of his father who passed away on the 19th of December, 2015. Furthermore, he was given financial allowances by our company to ease his burial expenses in line with company’s policy.

“A close examination of our staff Identity Card being brandished by the suspect further buttresses the fact that he has been out of our employ for quite a while. We therefore use this medium to strongly disassociate our company from this dubious character who in order to win public sympathy has opted to drag our name and hard-earned reputation in the mud,” the statement said.

According to the company, “we shall continue to be undaunted in our resolve to be a role model of professionalism in our chosen field and a contributor to the Nigeria Project.”
