DELSU Lecturer Shot and Left for Dead After Resisting Kidnap

A university professor from Delta State University has been shot and left for dead by kidnappers in the state.
A lecturer with the Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. Richard Okorodudu has been shot and left to die by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
It was gathered that the kidnappers shot the lecturer at Ughelli while he was traveling in his Toyota Prado Jeep with registration number EKY 257 DJ and engine number – 2TR8641070.
The gunmen reportedly dragged the University don out of his vehicle and tried to to force him into their car, a move which he resisted leading the suspected kidnappers to shoot him in the head and leg.
The kidnappers fled the scene with his vehicle after the shooting which left the University Don in a pool of his own blood.
The University lecturer was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital nearby where he is presently recuperating.
The family of the University don in reaction to the attempted kidnap and assassination has called on the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Khotoun Idris to spread the news in order to facilitate the capture if the gunmen especially as the University lecturers have become preys to kidnappers.
