The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested five suspects over the death of one of their friend in Ringim Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Jinjiri Abdu, in Dutse on Monday.
Jinjiri said that one the suspects allegedly attacked the victim identified as Ibrahim Hussani with knife.
He said that the incident occurred on July 12, at about 10:30 p.m. in Ringim town.
“On July 12, we received a report that the victim was allegedly attacked with knife by one of the suspects.
“It was gathered that the incident happened after one of the suspects’ phone got missing.
“It was in the middle of the argument that one of the suspects attacked the diseased with knife,” the PPRO said.
According to him, it was upon receipt of the report that the police immediately arrived at the scene where they found the victim unconscious.
“Unfortunately he died few minutes after he was taken to General Hospital, Ringim, due to the injury he sustained,’’ Abdu said.
He said the investigation into the case had commenced, after which the suspect would be charged to court.
