Poverty is not a sin – OAP, Michael Effiong calls out Nigerian Pastors who say it is

Nigerian OAP, Micheal Effiong who works with KpoKpo FM in Delta State has just shared an interesting perspective on Poverty and how Nigerian Pastors wrongfully use it to scare people.

See his post beow…

There is this preaching making waves among Nigerian pastors that “poverty is a sin”.
I don’t know where they got it from and I wonder why someone will climb the pulpit and make others feel inferior.

In as much as we love richest that doesn’t mean that those that are poor will make it to hell. Don’t scare the poor ones away from God with this satanic preaching.
If any preacher tell you that “poverty is a sin” tell him to show you where God said that in the Bible.

For God sake, not every one used by God in biblical times were rich. John the Baptist wasn’t a rich man. Elijah, Elisha and Joseph the carpenter weren’t described as being rich.
Serve God the right way and don’t put earthly riches in front.

  1. I am in total agreement with you. I don’t know what is wrong with this End time pastors. Is like they are using a different bible from the one we know. I don’t know if they have ever heard of Lazarus in the bible. There wasn’t an instant God or our lord Jesus Christ condemn him for being poor. I am sorry for the gullible people that listen to them. Is because of this kind
of preaching, that arm robbery and kidnapping is on the increase in Nigeria.
