Governor Abiola Ajimobi announced on Saturday that he was determined to conduct the state’s local government polls.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by its Public Relations Officer, Olawale Sadare, Ajimobi who attended the state executive committee meeting of the party promised that elections into the 33 local government areas and the 35 local council development areas would be conducted as soon as possible.
“It may interest the people of the state, including members of our great party, that Governor Ajimobi attended our state executive meeting on Thursday and restated his commitment to the conduct of local government poll in the state as, according to him, efforts are being made to resolve the litigation over the implementation of the law establishing Local Council Development Areas.
“Meanwhile, we have received reports of some aspirants having challenges on how to get a refund of the money they paid to contest in the botched February council poll. We are more than ready to make refunds. Those concerned should write to the party’s state secretariat for a refund,” Sadare said.
