Where Is Cynthia Morgan? Here’s What You Should Know About Her Absence

After making a huge impression as a pop artiste in 2013, we all witnessed Cynthia Morgan‘s smooth transition into the dancehall space – a more convenient environment for any female artiste to exist in as there is little or no competition in that territory.

For over three years, Cynthia Morgan stood out and reigned supreme as the Queen of Nigerian Dancehall music dishing out par reggae tunes that kept us in touch with memories of the movie Third World Cop. Her patois always effortlessly came correct on each record thus leading us to question the originality of her male counterparts.

From 2015, Cynthia Morgan began to slowly sleep on us after her break up and makeup charade with Burna Boy on the visual representation of her Simatiniya single. Just like her preceding records, Simatiniya was a good song but we just never got a follow up (well we got a few leaks and singles which were barely promoted) – leaving us to whirl in our imaginations of what could be possibly wrong with the star girl. Some suggested that the Headies Next Rated award loss was what took a toll on her while others insisted she was either going through a personal storm or having managerial hiccups.

News reaching us confirms that her supposed hiatus from the music scene is indeed a result of managerial hiccups. A member of her team who spoke to NET revealed that the singer has parted ways with the Jude Okoye led North Side INC Label which she joined in 2013.

The source also disclosed that Morgan has now signed on to a new management which will be announced in due time. It is unclear if Jude Okoye’s own crisis in the dissolution of Psquare could have contributed to his lukewarm approach to managing Cynthia Morgan.

On why she hasn’t been putting out music, our source explained that the managerial transition played a role in the break, but assured that everything is now in order and the singer will be releasing her first single under the new management in the nearest future (January 2018 possibly).

‘We are not granting interviews for now but we will send out a press release to address and inform the public very soon’, He added.

Reggae music isn’t a dominant genre in Nigeria and Cynthia Morgan’s recent inactivity has left the Dancehall throne vacant. We hope to have her back at full throttle.
