‘It Doesn’t Matter Whether You Believe My Story or Not’ – Tonto Dikeh Gets Candid

Tonto Dikeh has granted yet another interview centred on her failed marriage with Churchill Olakunle, and she remains undaunted after all she says she has been through. And one important message she is passing across is: she does not care what folks think of her now.

Speaking with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV’s Rubbin Minds, the Nollowood star admitted that the messy drama has taken its toll on her.

I am exhausted,” said the actress about the whole drama, adding that the continuous fights keep taking her “backwards.”

She continued, saying, “I realised it now that my responses [don’t] even help me or my brand, and it doesn’t even change the perspective anyone has out there about me. So, why even bother?

Asked if she regrets spilling too much details about her failed marriage in the interviews she had granted, she said, “I do not regret my interviews because after my interviews, a lot of domestic violence victims came out. A lot of people started getting saved.”

Asked if it bothers her that many people no longer believe her story following all the details and the clips her ex-husband allegedly leaked to clear his name, she said, “At first it did bother me — I mean, it was killing me–[but] I got to the point that I realised that nobody cares about me or the situation that happened in my home, that everything that is happening is entertainment for them. Nobody really cares about [what I went through].”

So, whether you believe me or not, it doesn’t matter. My name is Tonto Dikeh. I am a domestic violence victim and I am a survivor.”

And she said more, noting her plans to slam Churchill Olakunle with a lawsuit, how this whole drama will affect her son’s future, and more.
