Nigerian women’s bobsleigh team makes history, qualifies for winter Olympics

The Nigerian trio of Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga have made history after becoming the first African team to ever qualify for a Winter Olympics in the sport.

The Nigerian women’s two-person bobsleigh which is made up of Driver, Seun Adigun including Breakmen Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga, completed the fifth of their required five qualifying races in Calgary on Wednesday.

Their qualification, make them the first Winter Olympians to represent the West African nation. They will be representing Nigeria at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The three beautiful ladies are the first ever Nigeria Women’s Bobsled Team. Congrats to the ladies!!

Bobsleigh is a winter sport in which teams of two or four teammates make timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sled.
