One Africa Music Fest Organizer ‘Paul Okoye’ Apologizes To Sarkodie

During the recently concluded Dubia leg of the One Africa Music Festival, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie was said to have refused to perform after feeling slighted by Nigerian pop stars Wizkid and Davido.

During the concert, Wizkid was reported to have made an unplanned appearance on stage during Tiwa Savage’s performance, which changed the entire performance arrangements.

Sarkodie was supposed to perform after Tiwa Savage but because of Wizkid’s surprise appearance, which was not part of the running order, Wizkid performed after Tiwa because he was already on the stage.

Tekno came on stage after Wizkid and according to reports, Sarkodie was rescheduled to perform after Tekno but that couldn’t also happen as Davido interrupted the order by joining Tekno on stage.

‘When Sark was just about hitting the stage, Davido’s guy attacked Black Nana by pushing him to the floor to allow Davido perform.’, said George Britton – a Ghanaian music promoter who was present at the event.

The rapper also expressed his displeasure via his twitter account “Nobody plays with my brand and that be why we no step on that stage…I just feel for the fans and that be why i tweet’, He said.

Paul Okoye the Organizer of the One Africa Music Festival in a lengthy post has issued an apology to Sarkodie.

‘However we would like to offer our sincerest apologies to Sarkodie, his team and all his fans that came out to see him, due to management miscommunication, that led to him not performing and we regret that we missed out on his performance. We at OAG are personally accountable on delivering on all our commitments, and as such take it to heart when commitments are not fulfilled to either the artist or the fans. As we continue to improve our platform and the experience shared by the artist and fans our goals remain undeterred bringing Afrobeats enthusiasts under one roof, one shared love, one family, One Africa.’ He wrote.
