Police arrests two person over alleged kidnapping in Zamfara State

The Police Command in Zamfara says it has arrested two suspects, allegedly connected with the kidnapping and murder of one Sani Saidu in Guru, Maru Local Government Area.

A statement issued on Wednesday in Gusau by the command’s Public Relation’s Officer, DSP Muhammad Shehu, said that the suspects were arrested on Tuesday at Dansadau area of Maru Local Government Area.

Shehu said the suspects were arrested during an operation by policemen that combed the forest and their known hideouts in the area.

He said the suspects were from Malele village of Dansadau area of Maru Local Government Area.

He said the suspects had on Nov. 26 kidnapped Sa’idu, an indigene of Guru in Maru local government area, and killed him later.

The police spokesman said that a locally made gun and motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.

He said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the command completed its investigation.

Shehu assured the public that the command would continue to sustain its efforts to rid the state of crime and criminal elements to ensure peace and stability there.

He, therefore, called for more support and cooperation from the public to enable the command to discharge its duties.
