The Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Goodwill Obioma, has announced that at least 50,000 Permanent Voter Cards are yet to be collected by their owners in the State.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Godswill Obioma, said this in Abakaliki, the state capital, during an interactive session with journalists on Friday.
He appealed to people who had yet to collect their PVCs to do so without further delay.
“Fifty thousand Permanent Voter Cards have not been collected by their owners in Ebonyi State. People should come and collect it without further delay,” he said.
Obioma explained that the creation of additional registration centres followed the request by traditional rulers and stakeholders across the state.
The INEC boss expressed displeasure with a drop in the number of prospective voters taking part in the on-going Continuous Voters Registration across the state, especially women.
He appealed to stakeholders to adopt better strategies to encourage more people to register.
