Mel B and Stephen Belafonte are officially divorced

Former Spice Girls star, Mel B, 42, and her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte, 42, are now officially divorced, ending their nine months of bitter court drama filled with battles over custody and spousal support including a sex tape.

The couple’s troubled 10-year marriage was annulled by Judge Mark Juhas of Los Angeles Superior Court, on Friday, December 16th.

Meanwhile, Mel B whose real name is Melanie Brown was not in court to hear the judge declare the dissolution of her marriage to estranged husband, who both share a 6-year-old daughter Madison Brown Belafonte.

The dissolution of their marriage comes weeks after Mel who filed for a divorce in March, agreed to pay her ex-husband $15,000 per month over the next three -years. Belafonte later denied the reports that Mel B is paying him  $15,000 a month for three years.

On the custody issue of their child, the court granted Belafonte alternate weekends and Wednesdays. Which means that from now on, if Mel wants to take Madison out of the country, she will have to ask Belafonte’s permission.

According to Mail Online, the judge also settled the house sale issue by ordering that the realtor handling the sale should let Mel and her lawyers know of any offer within 24 hours of receiving that offer.

The couple will split the proceeds from the sale of the home they share together and several businesses.
