New Commander advises troops against Boko Haram

The newly appointed Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, fighting the Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East, Maj. Gen. Rogers Nicholas, has asked troops to be prepared to take the war to the doorsteps of the terrorist group without the violation of human rights.

Addressing the troops, Nicholas described the military as a professional body guided by the rules of engagement.

The Theatre Commander also appealed to communities to assist the military with information on movements of insurgents.

He said, “We need the public to always pass useful and reliable intelligence to the military for prompt response or action as the military cannot be everywhere at the same time.”
