Blackish Star Tracee Ellis Ross To Grace February Front Cover of Glamour Magazine

Golden Globe award winner and daughter of Diana Ross, Tracee Ellis Ross, is to grace the front cover of the February edition of Glamour Magazine.

While being interviewed by Emily Mahaney, she spoke a lot about her life, particularly her life with her mother. She also spoke about how important her awards are to her and the societal pressures on her as a woman in her 40s.

While talking about her childhood, her relationship with her mom and how her mom managed her workload and raising her, the Blackish actress said “My mother has a deep heart for her children that I almost don’t understand.… I have these memories like I said, my mom is onstage doing her job, and as a kid, I would wander in during shows, like, “Hey, Mom…” And she was not like, “Get off the stage! Get out of my moment”. She’s like, “What’s up….”? I have never heard my mom say, “Not now—I don’t have time”.

She went on to add that “Even now, in the middle of the night, my mom will answer the telephone. It’s incredible to know you are loved in a way that somebody is there for you”.

She also added that people expect certain “traditional” things from her at her age as if her accomplishments can be tainted by her not being a traditional woman. The 45-year-old says that despite that she is a doctor, actress, has a golden globe and good credit, well-wishers always tell her that it is not too late to give her life a meaning. In the words of Tracee, it makes it seem “As if all that I have done and who I am doesn’t matter.”
