Here’s What Meghan Markle Presented Queen Elizabeth As Christmas Gift

Meghan Markle reportedly had the Queen in hysterics with her choice of Christmas present – but it may have already gone to the dogs. The Queen was said to have been very impressed with the bride-to-be’s gift but told the American actress her corgis would enjoy it more.

Meghan Markle spent her first Christmas with the Royal Family at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. The Royals are said to have exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve, a tradition influenced by the family’s German ancestry, and despite being cheap, Meghan’s reported choice of gift was a great success.

According to a royal source, Prince Harry’s bride-to-be bought his grandmother a singing toy hamster.

But before Her Majesty had time to fully look at the gift her corgis snatched it from her, causing the Queen to erupt in laughter. According to the Daily Star Online, after receiving the gift her Majesty told Meghan: ‘It can keep my dogs company.’

A source said: ‘Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty. ‘It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy. ‘She laughed and said “they can keep my dogs company”.’ It comes after news was announced that pubs across the country could have their licencing hours extended for the royal wedding, meaning they could be kept open until 1am on May 18 and 19. The Home Office is looking to do away with the usual opening hours as the nation celebrates Harry and Meghan’s big day, as well as the FA Cup final – which falls on the same weekend.
