I’m Proud to Pay my Tithes- D’Banj, Daddy Freeze Responds

In another chapter of the tithing carousel, Daddy Freeze and Koko master D’banj find themselves on the opposite ends of the conversation.

During the mega 40th birthday bash for Nollywood queen, Omotola Jalade, D’Banj who was performing took his chance to tell Freeze who was also in attendance in very certain terms that he is a proud tither.

D’Banj said to Freeze, “I pay my tithe and I’m proud I pay and I don’t care what they do with it”.

Freeze has been vocal about his stance against tithing in Nigerian churches as he is of the belief that it isn’t put to the use it should and that it instead funds the lavish, celebrity lifestyles of some pastors.

Freeze, in usual form, had a response.

He took to his Instagram page to say;

You appreciate my opinion, thank you and I extend you the same courtesy.

However, you can’t say you don’t care what the tithe is being used for, that’s wrong!

It’s why Nigeria, that produced the most PEOPLE LIVING IN EXTREME POVERTY on earth, according to www.worldpoverty.io also produced the WORLDS RICHEST PASTORS according to Forbes, it doesn’t add up!

Pastors are disobeying Christ by building schools with TITHE MONEY, yet poor church members can’t attend, in contrast to Teachings of Jesus who instructed us to love one our neighbors as ourselves, this he said is the THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT: MAT22-37-40 These same pastors in their uttermost hypocrisy are telling us to OBEY MALACHI WHILE THEY DISOBEY JESUS!

Nigeria with a population of less than 200 million, has 82.8million people living in extreme poverty, far more than India with a population of 1.3billion which has only 81.5 million poor people.

Tithe is not, was not and will NEVER be a part of Christianity.

Jesus never collected tithes, The disciples and apostles never collected tithes either.

Jesus NEVER collected first fruit offering either…. our first pastors the disciple and apostles didn’t collect it.

It’s a curse to obey ‘ tithe’ and ‘first fruit’ under the law and disobey the rest of the law of moses.

Moses brought the law, but Jesus Christ brought grace and truth.- John 1:17.

Tithing is not of grace. It is of the law.- Matthew 23:23.

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
___ ◄ Galatians 5 ►

[1] So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. [4] For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

  1. Point of correction tithing is not of the law , Abraham gave tithe 480years before the law by moses , tithing is a duty and a form of worship and honor to God …..don’t do the mistake it an encounter with God and not with pastors .

  2. Tithing is mentioned only three or four times in the New Testament. Jesus acknowledged that the Pharisees were very careful about tithing (Luke 18:12), and he said that they should not leave it undone (Matthew 23:23; Luke 11:42). Tithing, like other old covenant rules and rituals, was a law at the time Jesus spoke. Jesus criticized the Pharisees not for tithing, but for treating tithing as more important than mercy, love, justice and faithfulness.

The only other New Testament mention of tithing is in Hebrews. The fact that Abraham was blessed by and gave tithes to Melchizedek illustrates the superiority of Melchizedek and Jesus Christ over the Levitical priesthood (Hebrews 7:1-10). The passage then goes on to note that “when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also” (verse 12).

There was a change of the priesthood from the Levites to Jesus Christ, and this implies a change in the law that assigned the Levites to be priests. How much has been changed? Hebrews says that the old covenant is obsolete. The package of laws that commanded tithes to be given to the Levites is obsolete.

Humans should honor God by voluntarily returning some of the blessings he gives them — this is still a valid principle. The only place that a percentage is required is within the old covenant. There is good precedent for tithing before Sinai, but no proof that it was required.
Do pastors no longer believe in Acts 4:32-35?
Are pastors afraid to preach Acts 2:45?
God is seeing the hypocrisies of these pastors.
Daddy Freeze, you are doing a good job.

  3. Let me paste it here:
    Acts 4:32-35

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. [33] And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. [34] Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, [35] And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Why don’t pastors share everything according to everyone member’s need?

Which Bible are they using that doesn’t have these verses?

Why don’t they preach this part of the Bible regularly like they preach the tithe part?

  4. Dbanj, you are so right.
The church is not a charitable organization.

Tithing and first fruit came before the law.

God said it is I that gives you power to make wealth. Eph 5vs25-27 says the reason why we must work is for us to give to give to the poor. It didn’t say the church should give to the poor.

Your own duty in church is to honor God with your money from what He has blessed you with.

Daddy freeze, don’t quote the Bible upside down pls.

  5. Uncle freeze, Jesus Christ did not condemn tithing in Matt 23:23, you misunderstood the message. What Christ is saying is that the Pharisees gave their tithe so that people can see them but in secret they are wicked. That’s why Christ called them hyprocrites.

Tithing is for people who show mercy, judgement and faith, not for pretenders.

Don’t misinterprete God’s word, tell God to enlighten you and not you trying to enlighten yourself.

  6. Freeze shut up already. Stop spreading your poison. You don’t even have the money to pay tithe. So continue in your poverty. Leave tithers alone. It’s there business with God.
Just go jump over third mainland bridge or hug the nearest transformer.

  7. Daddy freeze does not pay tithe. That is why his home and family are in shambles. Your Tithe commits God amongst others to stay the hands of devourers. And those devourers have devoured his marriage and common sense. So am not surprised.

  8. Ify and Udeh Edna, it is a pity if this is how you set example for Christianity.
The truth hurts. And those who preaches it like Freeze are often attacked. It is not true that ones financial success is tied to tithe.
