NPS Promotes 174 Prison Officers In Bauchi State

Press release: (Friday, February 2, 2018): As one of the most outstanding Command, the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) has promoted 174 Prison Officers of the Bauchi State Command.

The newly promoted officers of the Bauchi State Command have been urged to consider their promotion as a call to duty and reciprocate the good gesture by working assiduously towards safe custody and reformation of inmates.

The Controller of Prisons, Bauchi State Command, CP Suleiman T. Suleiman, made the call in his speech at the decoration ceremony for the newly promoted officers in Bauchi.

The Controller of Prisons said the promotion is part of efforts of the Prisons administration under the able leadership of Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed to motivate officers and men of the Service for effective service delivery.

He noted that out of the 174 officers and men promoted, three were promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller of Prisons, two Chief Superintendent of Prisons, three Superintendents of Prisons and eight Deputy Superintendent of Prisons.

Others included 77 Non-Commissioned officers, 52 Inspectors of Prisons elevated to the rank of Senior Inspectors of Prisons as well as 81 officers from the rank and file.

In their goodwill messages to the newly promoted officers, Security Chiefs from sister agencies in the state implored them to live above board and discharge their duties with due diligence and professionalism.
