Video Of Underaged Children Voting In Kano LGA Election Exposed

Kano State – northern part of Nigeria which has a large population of 9,401,288 appears to be the headquarters of underage voters as an undated video evidence indicates them freely participating in the Kano LGA elections.

The governing All Progressives Congress, APC, won 100 per cent of all chairmanship and councillor seats in all the 44 local governments in Kano State but allegations of underage voting has marred the victory.

The social media has been awash with images of children queuing to vote, sparking national outrage. A video of kids in the northern part of the country casting their votes has emerged amidst strong rumours of cheating by the ruling party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Monday washed its hands off the scandal, saying the election was conducted by the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission.

Speaking with journalists at the presidential villa on Tuesday, the Governor of Kano Mr. Abdullahi Ganduje said the images were simply propaganda orchestrated by his political opponents loyal to his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
