How 26-Year-Old Woman Tricked And Defrauded Medical Doctor N8m In Lagos

A 26-year old lady, Rosemary Benson has landed in trouble in Lagos after she reportedly tricked and obtained the sum of 16,000 pounds (N8 million) from a medical practitioner, Dr. Adekunle Desalu under false pretence and escaped, according to a report by PM Express.

The sad incident happened in February, 2018 at Taiwo Ishola Street, Lekki Phase 1 in Ajah area of Lagos.

The suspect has been arrested for the alleged fraud but the police did not state what transpired between the suspect and the victim for him to part with such huge amount of money.

However, the police alleged that the suspects and others at large conspired and stole the money from the victim. It was gathered that after the alleged fraud, the suspect bolted away and the victim was unable to locate her.

The matter was reported to the police at FSARS in Ikeja and the suspect was trailed and eventually arrested recently. Police source said that when she was asked to refund the money, she replied that she had spent the money and would be unable to refund it.

She was arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrates court for the alleged offence and she pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.Sule-Amzat granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuehi did not put up any objection on her bail.

She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
