Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote turned 61 today and he marked it privately in his office with intimate loved ones.

He not only received lots of Cakes but also had a billboard advert fixed in his honor in Lagos.

Aliko Dangote was Born April 10 1957 in Kano State, Northern Part of Nigeria into a Rich Family of Muslim faith to Mother Mariya Sanusi Dantata and father, Mohammed Dangote. As a Young teenager growing up, Aliko Dangote has always committed himself to doing business,selling packs of sweet in his secondary school days. He has a degree in Business from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egyptt in North Africa.

Aliko established Dangote Group as a mini trading Business in 1977, from a ₦500,000 Naira loan that was given to him by his weathy uncle, Sanusi Abdulkadir Dantata when he was just 21 years of age and having just returned from study in Egypt.

A Nigerian from a humble beginning, Aliko Dangote rose from a petty trade Business man in Nigeria to become a business tycoon in Nigeria and West Africa,

He became a famous billionaire trading in Flour, Cement and sugar. But more recently Dangote has his eyes on oil Business in Nigeria, He hinted in April 2014 of his intention to invest $9 billion in building a Private Oil refinery, a petrochemical plant and fertilizer processing Complex.

His Company Dangote Group is a leading manufacturer of everyday consumable commodities like Sugar( Dangote Sugar refinery is the largest in Africa and in the 3rd position of Sugar refinery in the World, producing 800,000 sugar tonnes on a yearly basis) other commodities are Noodles,Flour mill,Cement factory,Semovita, Salt factory,rice importation,Fertilizer plant and so many other commodities, The Dangote Group Operates in several African Countries of Togo, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Ghana, Zambia, South Africa and with Headquarters in Nigeria.

Dangote Group is also into the exportation of cocoa, Ginger, cashew nut, cotton, sesame seed to many Nations around the Globe.

Dangote Transport got the licencee of Central Bank of Nigeria in 1990 to manage its fleet of buses.

Aliko Dangote is a major employer of labour in Nigeria and among top employers in West Africa, with a total workforce of about 11,000 workers. He is also a major financier in Transport business in Nigeria, textile industry and housing sector.
