President Muhammadu Buhari has approved $1 billion for the procurement of security equipment to fight Boko Haram insurgency. However, some people are of the opinion that the money would rather be used for the conduct of the 2019 election and not for the purpose stated. One of such people is Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State. Fayose in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, on Wednesday, alleged that “it as a pooling of public funds for the purpose of funding President Buhari’s reelection as well as the coming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States.”

Nothing wrong in Buhari approving $1billion for military equipments to fight Boko Haram. India spends $25billion yearly. The problem I have is Buhari and his thieves lying everyday that Boko Haram has been “technically defeated” or “downgraded”. It becomes stealing to approve $1b
