See main Reason Why Arsene Wenger is in Liberia

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is currently in Liberia to receive the highest honour. A lot of Arsenal fans in the country went out en masse to welcome Wenger, who coached Arsenal for over 2 decades.

George Weah, Liberia’s president was brought to Monaco in 1988 by Arsene Wenger and became his first European coach.

George Weah, who remains till date, the only African footballer to win Fifa World Player of the Year, would confer on Wenger Knight Grand Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption.

Although, Wenger in an interview had revealed he was unaware of any honour – He said he was only visiting a former player, whom he had coached, when no one was yet to recognise him as a player.

Apart from the highest order, Arsene Wenger on August 24th, will be inducted into the country’s Order of Distinction.
