I Took Blue Raspberries And Not Rohypnol – Skales On Drug Abuse Allegation

Yesterday, Singer Skales was accused by a fan of abusing illicit drug after a video of him free-styling surfaced on the internet. The singer however denied taking drugs and claimed it was Blue Raspberries he took, hence the blue colouration on his tongue.

Skales who just dropped a new video for his song “Body” featuring Ghanaian Rapper Sarkodie, took to his social media to clear the air.

He said:

‘Blue raspberries we don’t do drugs over here, Bayo show them your tongue i want them to see it, Blue raspberries fam, We don’t do drugs‘

Skales further went on to say:

‘Say No To Drugs, Stay Healthy‘

Blue raspberries have been known across the world to give a bluish colouration to the tongue of whoever takes the item.

Mentalfloss.com gives a brief explanation on what Blue Raspberry is

The ice pop barons had access to blue dye, but no flavors that needed it. It was just an extra color sitting around, so they started to marry the flavor of Rubus leucodermis, known as the “Whitebark Raspberry” or “Blue Raspberry,” with the bright blue synthetic food coloring Brilliant Blue (FD&C Blue No. 1).

The dye’s color wasn’t anywhere close to the real-life color of the fruit, but it solved the raspberry conundrum and led to blue-tongued kids across the country.
