Dino Melaye has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared ticket for Kogi West senatorial district to represent the party in the 2019 general elections.

Melaye, who recently decamped from the All Progressives Congress(APC), while reacting to his victory  said the affirmation was Shocking but not surprising, because he has represented the zone well in the Senate.

Meanwhile, two contenders stepped down for Melaye, while four others were not cleared by the PDP screening committee. Those who stepped down for Melaye were former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Tolorunjuwon Faniyi and representative of Kabba/Bunu/ Ijumu federal constituency in the House of Representaives, Tajudeen Yusuf.
