Governor Akinwummi Ambode, of Lagos State, in his press conference on Wednesday afternoon, has accepted defeat from the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Ambode in his address broadcast by Lagos television, made it clear he was OK with the result from the state’s governorship primary election, while he congratulated the winner, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his victory.

In his words:

“In the last few days, there has been palpable tension in Lagos state but I strongly believe that the time has come for the state to move forward so that our progress in the last three and the half years are not erased,” he said.

“Dear Lagosians, APC is a great party and the interest of our beloved state must clearly supersede that of any individuals. It is in this regard that I wholeheartedly congratulate the winner of Lagos state APC primary, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.”
