Disney’s ‘Lion king’ live-action adaptation has made history with 224.6 million global views in just over 24 hours of release. The trailer has landed at number two in the most watched trailers of all time from any company, only topped by Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War with 230 million views in a day.

The live-action film features Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver as Zazu, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogan as Pumbaa amongst others. Despite some viewers being unsure over the adaptation, fans’ love of childhood nostalgia has resulted in the live-action film breaking a huge record. The remake of the 1994 movie also features Beyoncé as Adult Nala and Donald Glover as adult Simba. Lion king hits cinemas July 19, 2019.
