A man was brought out dead from a seven-story building which collapsed around Woji road in the Port Harcourt Government Reserved Area (G.R.A), Rivers State. Some people have been confirmed dead while twenty-two persons were rescued with their hands amputated. The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Friday.
Most of the workers operating in the building were present as they are usually paid on Fridays. The rescue operation was conducted by emergency and security officers working overtime. They believe that bodies are still in somewhere in the building as voices have been heard from the collapsed building. According to a construction worker, he has just left the building when he heard a loud bang and turned to discover that the building had collapsed.
