A female sucide bomber with a Person-Borne improvised explosive device was offset by troops of the 143 battalion deployed at a checkpoint in Gulak Adamawa State on Monday, 26 November, 2018. According to a statement released by the Nigerian Army via Twitter, she tried to infiltrate DAR Village to detonate her explosive vests.

This comes a week after Boko Haram members reportedly killed over 100 soldiers at the military base in Metele Village of Guzmala Local Government Area of Borno State. Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has recently held staunch talks with the service chiefs, comprising of heads of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force and the Nigerian Police with a view to deterring the efforts of the insurgents.
