Chelsea beat Brighton by two goals to one at the Falmers stadium during their domestic league fixtue corresponding to match day 17 to consolidate on their fourth spot in the domestic league table in the current campaign.
Chelsea had opened a two goals lead against their opponents during the clash before the deficit was halved and the encounter became a tensed one with the host poring forward in order to salvage a point from the encounter.
However, Chelsea held on to their lead and saw out the result to move three points ahead of Arsenal who were beaten by Southampton 3-2.
