The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced via a statement on social media that there will be no ‘Diaspora or out of country’ voting in the 2019 general elections. According to the commission, the decision is in accordance with extant provisions of the 1999 constitution.

INEC also stated that internally displaced persons in states where they registered can vote in all elections, while people currently leaving in states other than where they registered can only vote in the Presidential election.
