Bruce, Omokri blast Buhari over claims opposition party plans to use boko haram and bandits to disrupt 2019 elections

The federal government on Monday revealed that it has solid information that the opposition party, plans to unleash mayhem using Boko Haram and armed bandits, ahead of the coming general elections.

This was made known by Nigeria’s Information Minister, Lai Mohammed during a press conference in Abuja.

In his worPDP

As you are aware, Nigeria goes to the polls just 27 days from now. However, the Federal Government is in possession of credible intelligence to the effect that widespread violence being orchestrated by the opposition is threatening the 2019 general election. You have definitely seen the massive and warm reception that President Muhammadu Buhari has been receiving across the country, compared to the thinning crowds that have been attending the opposition rallies.

“The desperate opposition is orchestrating widespread violence with a view to truncating the elections, thus triggering a constitutional crisis that could snowball into the establishment of an interim government.”

Reacting to the statement, Ben Murray Bruce, senator of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faulted the minster’s claims. According to him, its impossible for the opposition to use a boko haram that has been said to have been defeated, against the government.

How can you claim that you have defeated Boko Haram in one breath and in another breath you claim that the opposition wants to use the same Boko Haram that you have defeated to disrupt the elections? When you lie too much the lies begins to contradict themselves.

Reacting also, a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has been ‘releasing repentant Boko Haram members’, yet claims that its Atiku and PDP that have been against the policy, that he is accusing of using them to disrupt the elections.

Lai Mohammed claims the opposition plan to use Boko Haram to disrupt the 2019 elections, yet it is Buhari and the APC that has been releasing ‘repentant’ Boko Haram members and it’s the @OfficialPDPNig and Atiku who have been against that policy. Who is fooling who?
