Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has warned that what happened in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Nigeria.

This comes after opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi was announced winner of the long-delayed presidential election, of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The electoral commission  shocked many with the early Thursday announcement, in what is said to be DRC’s first peaceful, democratic transfer of power since independence in 1960.

According to Fayose, speaking via a tweet on Friday, “those who believed that they can retain power by manipulating the presidential election must be having a rethink now.”

With what just happened in the Democratic Republic of Congo, those who believed that they can retain power by manipulating the presidential election must be having a rethink now. Despite the machinations by the ruling party in the DRC, the people prevailed.
