We will all cry if we don’t restructure Nigeria – Ben Bruce

Borno State Governor, Ibrahim Shettima made headlines on Tuesday after he broke down in tears during a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and elders from the state at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor wept bitterly as he recounted the sad tales of the resurgence of Boko Haram activities in the state, stunning everyone present at meeting – Which led newsmen to be excused from the meeting.

Reacting to it, Senator Bruce said he felt bad for the governor, whose state has suffered the most, since the emergence of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. However, he says the tears of the governor and everyone else will not cease unless the country is restructured.

I was touched by Shettima’s tears. I think it is obvious by now that restructuring is no longer an option before Nigeria. It is now a necessity. And the more we deny it, the more we will all cry. From President to Governor, to Local Government Chairman, down to the lowest level.
