The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, was on Monday booed at the party’s Presidential candidate rally in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The former Edo state governor earned the wrath of the crowd, when while addressing them, mentioned Dapo Abiodun as the APC governorship candidate in Ogun state.
As soon as the APC Chairman voiced out Dapo Abiodun’s name, hell was let loose as the crowd started throwing object at him and booing him.
This stirred out-going governor, Ibikunle Amosun, to pacify the crowd, asking them to respect President Muhammadu Buhari’s presence. However the crowd was unpleased with the call for calm and as such, president Buhari was quickly called up the stage to speak.
It will be recalled that Amosun had serious issues with the NWC of the party over the emergence of Dapo Abiodun as the APC governorship candidate for the state, because he wanted Adekunle Akinlade, who later decamped to APM to succeed him.
It is common knowledge that though Amosun has stayed in APC, where he is also contesting for senate – Akinlade of APM has his(Amosun) support in the governorship election.
