Samuel Ortom, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, has been re-elected for a second term.

Maimako Sebastian, the returning officer in the state, declared Ortom winner after he secured 434,473 votes to defeat Emmanuel Jime, his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 345,155 votes.
