Federal lawmaker, Ben Murray Bruce has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to focus more on education rather than on anti corruption.
The lawmaker, who represents Bayelsa East at the senate accused Buhari of not having built a single school since he came to power in 2015 – yet, is eager to “throw people into jail”.
While admonishing the president to concentrate on education, Mr Bruce reminded him of a saying that ” opens the doors of a school, closes the doors of prisons. ”
What he wrote:
Dear President Buhari,
Invest in education, not just in anti corruption. Instead of throwing people in jail, remember that he who opens the doors of a school, closes the doors of prisons.
It is sad that you have built not ONE school. Not even one. Yet you want crime to end?
