A former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani- Kayode has described as “tragic”, absence of key Nigerian leaders at a time, when the country was in dire need of leadership.
The president, Muhammadu Buhari, his vice, Yemi Osinbajo and Senate president, Bukola Saraki are all away abroad for one reason or another – Zamfara has been battling with incessant killings and kidnappings with citizens left helplessly to their own fate or luck.
According to the former minister, the Northwestern Nigerian state, Zamfara “is witnessing one of the worst cases of mass murder in our history”, yet none of the absent leaders have found it necessary to come home.
He wrote; Buhari is in Jordan. Osinbajo is in Rwanda. Bukola Saraki is in Qatar. Atiku is in Dubai. Meanwhile Zamfara state is witnessing one of the worst cases of mass murder in our history yet not one of these “leaders” has seen fit to return home. This is sad and tragic!
