Fani-Kayode comes for RCCG for turning its back on young minister who committed suicide

Nigeria’s former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the death of a minister at the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG), who committed suicide yesterday.

The young Gospel singer reportedly took his own life after falling into depression for failing to come up with his rent.

Reacting to the suicide, Fani-Kayode condemned the church for “sitting by and doing nothing”, when one of its own had difficult times.

He accused the church of turning their back on the deceased and driving him to a state of despair and frustration.

He wrote: For a Church to sit by and do nothing when one of its young Ministers cannot pay his rent is sad. For them to turn their backs on him and drive him into such a state of frustration, despair and desperation that he ends up committing suicide are damn right condemnable. RCCG why?

  • I think charity should be part of the responsibility of the church. T B Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations is doing charity even to non-members of his church yet some people are still calling him names.

  • I think the case should be well investigated, I don’t see this young man committing suicide because of rent. This case beyond suicide.
If is true, some people because of ego may not talk out to the pastor or friends or relatives. Even sometime if he talk, as a star, out of ignorance, people may not help thinking he was just cracking joke and saying “you, a star, what do you need money for, we suppose to come to you and not you coming to us” . This has happened to me and is still happening to me where people does help me thinking I have the money.
So Fani Kayode should think thrice before jumping into conclusion.
